JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng police are investigating a triple murder at a taxi tank in the Johannesburg city centre on Tuesday.

Four other people were wounded in the same incident.

Officials confirmed that the injured were rushed to hospital.

Police spokesperson Pinky Tsinyane says they have launched a manhunt for the shooter, but no arrests have been made as yet.

"We are appealing to the community to give us information [on what happened.]"

The area where the three men were shot and killed was cordoned off earlier in the day.

According to witnesses, the shooting happened behind a vehicle where nobody could see.

A woman believed to be a relative of one of the victims collapsed when she saw a body lying next to a taxi.
