JOHANNESBURG - The Hawks on Thursday recovered R30 million worth of drugs in two separate raids in Gauteng.

In Randburg, a couple was arrested for running a drug lab.

Police spokesperson Paul Ramaloko said they confiscated a 12mm mortar and a 30mm mortar shell.

The drugs recovered include magic mushrooms and liquid chronic acid.

Ramaloko said the couple will appear in the Randburg Magistrate's Court soon.

Meanwhile, a Nigerian couple and a Tanzanian man were arrested in Roodepoort after they were caught in possession of drug manufacturing products.

The Nigerian couple's eight-year-old daughter has since been taken to a place of safety.

The trio will appear in a local magistrate's court.

Ramaloko said police had yet to establish whether the two drug labs were linked.

"At this stage, we cannot say the two laboratories are linked. However, we have not ruled out that possibility."
