Strike leader Godfrey Lindani said most workers are ready to accept the deal on certain conditions.

RUSTENBURG - Thousands of Anglo Platinum (Amplats) miners are still deciding if they will accept a wage hike offer.

Management offered the workers a once-off payment of R4,500, along with a R600 monthly allowance or a R400 wage hike.

Amplats has also extended its ultimatum to miners until Thursday.

If the striking employees fail to return to work, they could face dismissal.

Strike leader Godfrey Lindani said most workers are ready to accept the deal.

But he said this is on condition that negotiations on a basic salary of R16,000 continue after they return to work.

A mass meeting is being planned for Wednesday, where a decision will be taken.
