CAPE TOWN - Cape Cobras coach Paul Adams on Thursday said they need an improved and solid bowling performance in their one-day cup match against the Lions on Friday.

The Cobras lost by four wickets to the Titans on Wednesday, while the Lions go into the game as favourites after easy wins over the Titans and the Warriors in their first two games.

Adams said early wickets will hopefully swing the game in their favour.

"It's important to put the opposition under pressure upfront by getting two quick wickets. It will slow the innings down so it's important that we start off well with the ball."

Adams said they are expecting a big performance from veteran Charl Langeveldt.

"We had a good first outing against the Dolphins and Newlands has always been a good ground for him. I'm sure he's ready to go and please the Newlands faithful."

Kickoff is at 3:30pm.
