Sundowns ready for Pirates clash

Sundowns’ Anthony Laffor is confident his side will come out on top in Wednesday’s match.

JOHANNESBURG - Mamelodi Sundowns striker Anthony Laffor on Tuesday said it was crucial for his side to beat Orlando Pirates on Wednesday night, for them to get their Premier Soccer League campaign back on track.

Sundowns are 14th on the log and will be hoping for maximum points when they entertain title holders Pirates at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria.

Laffor said his side would be wary of the Buccaneers, who return from a humiliating defeat against Bloemfontein Celtics in the Telkom Knockout at the weekend.

"It is going to be a very big game. We just need to keep our composure and listen to our coach's instruction."

He said Pirates could still be "frustrated" by this weekend's loss.

"We are going to beat Orlando Pirates on Wednesday, but it is not going to be easy."
