CAPE TOWN - South Africa's most popular soccer team, Kaizer Chiefs, is now giving rugby a bash.

The Premier Soccer League club has registered a rugby team for the Sevens Premier League tournament, which will be hosted in George in December.

Former Springbok wing Breyton Paulse confirmed to Eyewitness News that he would captain the Amakhosi Sevens side.

Paulse said it is a brilliant initiative to take rugby to the people.

He said it was a unique way to get the soccer crowd to learn more about rugby and to also grow the sport in developing areas.
