Three children die from shack fire
Emergency Services responded to a call where three children died in a shack fire in Vlakfontein.
JOHANNESBURG - Three children died after a shack caught alight in Vlakfontein, south of Johannesburg on Sunday.
It is believed the fire broke out in the shack while the children, between the ages of five and 11 years, were asleep.
Their parents managed to escape the blaze.
They were treated at the Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital in Soweto.
Johannesburg Emergency Services spokesperson Robert Mulaudzi said police were investigating the cause of the fire.
"There are allegations that there might have been an argument between the parents before the fire but we cannot confirm them at the moment."
