Lesbian attack in Gugulethu
Police are looking for a man alleged to have assaulted two lesbian women leaving a nightclub.
CAPE TOWN - Western Cape police are investigating an attack on two Gugulethu women, apparently because they are lesbians.
It is alleged that the two women were with friends when they were assaulted by a man, shortly after leaving a club in the township, a few days ago.
The man reportedly punched, kicked and slapped the women while calling them names.
The two had to be hospitalised.
The police's Andre Traut said they were still looking for the perpetrator.
"The circumstances surrounding a serious case of assault are being investigated by the Gugulethu police station. No one has been charged as yet."
