Lions excited ahead of Currie Cup crunch tie
The Lions hope to beat Western Province to get closer to keeping Currie Cup trophy in JHB.
JOHANNESBURG - There are no nerves in the MTN Lions dressing room ahead of Saturday's crunch Currie Cup semi-final clash against Western Province, interim coach Johan Ackermann on Friday said.
The reigning champs are looking to reach their second consecutive final after beating Province at the same stage in the competition in 2011.
Ackermann said there is more excitement than nerves.
"I think the guys know they've got only one shot. They're motivated and they know how important it is to be in that final."
Janse van Rensburg said their team wants to limit their mistakes against the Province.
"You can't afford to make mistakes. The guys are really looking forward to the game and they know what's expected of them."
The game gets underway at 7pm.
Meanwhile, the Blue Bulls on Wednesday named an unchanged side for their semi-finals clash against the Sharks on Saturday.
Kick-off is at 4:30pm.
