Gerald Majola fired
Gerald Majola dismissed with immediate effect as Cricket South Africa CEO.
JOHANNESBURG - Cricket South Africa (CSA) CEO Gerald Majola has been dismissed with immediate effect.
The chairperson of his disciplinary inquiry Karel Tip announced the decision earlier.
On Wednesday, Majola was found guilty on all nine charges leveled against him.
These include accepting unauthorised bonuses without declaring them and abusing his travel fund.
Undeclared bonuses were allegedly paid to several CSA executives after the successful staging of the 2009 Indian Premier League (IPL) tournament.
Sports Minister Fikile Mbalula then established a commission of inquiry to probe the allegations.
Last week, Majola withdrew from the disciplinary process and chose to go to the Labour Court instead.
Majola's lawyer Pumezo David said, "We are not concerned about it. We will study the recommendation closely and consider our options.
"We will be appealing internally against the dismissal of our plea and our application for a postponement." For the full disciplinary findings click here.
