Cop shot dead in W. Cape
There are now five cops that have been shots in the Western Cape.
CAPE TOWN - Western Cape police confirmed another officer was shot dead in Philippi on Friday.
Police spokesperson November Filander told Eyewitness News it is not yet clear what led to the shooting.
The number of police officers show in the past 10 days now stands at five. Four of them have died.
One is under observation in hospital after being shot and wounded.
Provincial police commissioner Arno Lamoer said, "It is totally unacceptable that our members of the law enforcement are killed by criminals this way.
"We will continue with our work. We condemn this killing."
