CAPE TOWN - Highveld Lions captain Alviro Petersen on Tuesday said he is not surprised his team has done so well in the Champions League T20 so far.

They beat two-time Indian Premier League (IPL) champions the Chennai Super Kings by six wickets at Newlands on Tuesday night.

Their first win came against the Mumbai Indians last weekend.

Petersen says they are sticking to their game plan, which is getting them results.

"It was a calm but focused performance. The guys just stayed calm despite being under pressure with the bat. I think they did fantastically well."

Petersen says the team must not get carried away by the two victories.

"We played good cricket but we also made errors that I think we have to work on. We're focusing on the next game now."

Gulam Bodi scored 64 runs for the Lions.

CSK captain MS Dhoni says his bowlers did not deal with him properly.

"We didn't really bowl too well to him. Initially, I think the fast bowlers did well. I think the planning from the bowlers' side was not too good, but I think he played well. We need to give credit to him."
