Bafana bounce back
Bafana bounced back from their loss in Poland with a win against Kenya.
JOHANNESBURG - Following their disappointing loss in Europe against Poland, Bafana Bafana bounced back with a 2-1 win over Kenya in Nairobi.
Bafana fought hard to come out victorious from the action filled encounter that saw a penalty and an own goal.
Striker Tokelo Rantie beat the Kenyan defence and goalkeeper to put Bafana ahead in the 20th minute following a quality through-pass from Lerato Chabangu.
Kenyan star Striker Dennis Oliech put the Harambee Stars on level terms with a penalty in the 73rd minute after Bafana captain Bongani Khumalo was ruled to have handled the ball in the box.
Three minutes later Bafana's lead was restored when striker Bernard Parker's volley caused Kenyan defender Christopher Wekesa to score an own goal.
Earlier in the game Chabangu and Siphiwe Tshabalala could have given Bafana a wider victory margin, but sent the chances wide.
Substitute Dino Ndlovu missed out on scoring his first goal in Bafana colours but was denied by the upright at close range.
The win is Gordon Igesund's second win in four games.
