Police continue to search for Kauthar
Police continue to look for missing five-year-old toddler.
CAPE TOWN - Police said on Monday they were still searching for missing five-year-old girl, Kauther Bobbs.
The little girl disappeared while playing with friends at a park in Tafelsig, Mitchells Plain on Friday.
She was wearing a pink top and blue pyjama pants at the time of her disappearance.
Search parties have been looking for her throughout the community over the last few days.
Several pictures of Kauthar have been distributed in the community and residents have searched non-stop, but to no avail.
The Community Policing Forum's (CPF) Micheal Jacobs said they were concerned, but hope to find Kauthar.
"It always comes as a great shock. Every year at this time of the year, parents seem to be losing kids. Again, it's a reflection on how the community treats our children. It says a lot about our character."
Jacobs added that parents needed to keep an eye on their children at all times.
"We are calling upon parents to see that their kids are okay, to see that they play under supervision and not left alone."
He said the rumours that her body had been found were false.
"According to our knowledge the child is still missing. The rumours that she's been found are malicious and untrue. We are calling on the community to stay calm so that we can allow the police to do their investigation."
Police's November Philander concurred and said, "Kauthar Bobbs is still missing. We appeal to the community to come forward with any information regarding this incident."
Her mother Lameez said she hasn't been able to sleep since her daughter went missing
Residents are also at their wits end.
