Khumalo blasts PSL

Kaizer Chiefs will be forced to play without their star players in the Telkom Knockout on Friday.

JOHANNESBURG - Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Doctor Khumalo on Tuesday blasted the Premier Soccer League (PSL) for not moving his side's Telkom Knockout match against Bidvest Wits to a later date.

Chiefs, who face Wits on Friday, have eight players out on national duty in Kenya.

Bafana Bafana will play the East African country in an international friendly at 6pm.

Khumalo said this will put his side at a disadvantage because the players will be jetlagged and the team will only have them for a single training session before the game.

He believes players need more time to rest.

"The players need to rest because they are coming from one coach to another. They need enough time for the transition."

Khumalo said the situation could force the club to rest key players and run the risk of getting knocked out of their second cup competition this season.

Kickoff is 8:05pm.
