Boat capsizes on Duiker Island
The NSRI on Saturday said a boat had capsized near Hout Bay, with about 50 people on board.
CAPE TOWN - The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) on Saturday said a boat had capsized near Hout Bay, Cape Town, with a reported 50 people on board the charter.
NSRI spokesperson Craig Lambinon said the charter capsized on Duiker Island.
He said the institute and other emergency services responded quickly, to try and rescue those on board.
Lambinon said rescue teams were transporting victims from the vessel using NSRI and other charter boats.
The rescue operation continues.
