CAPE TOWN - Thami Tsolekile is likely to be one of the wicketkeepers for the Proteas tour to Australia, Test captain Graeme Smith said on Wednesday.

Tsolekile went to England earlier in 2012.

Wicketkeeper batsman AB de Villiers is also nursing some injuries ahead of the tour.

Smith said Tsolekile was with them on their last tour.

"Thami was in England. I would think if they are going to take two, Thami would be that guy. I think the side is not far away from being announced. The selectors are busy with it at the moment."

Smith said they need a well balance squad for their tour down under.

"It's an interesting one for us. We'll be playing at the Gabba after a long time and there's Perth and Adelaide. There's a few interesting things we need to look at, but hopefully we'll have a balance squad that can handle whatever comes our way."

The Proteas beat Australia when they last toured in 2008/09.
