CAPE TOWN - Another truck driver has been hospitalised in the Western Cape as the violent strike in the road freight industry drags on.

It's understood a 62-year-old was doused with petrol and set alight in Manenberg on Tuesday.

The health department's Helene Rossouw said he was rushed to the GF Jooste hospital.

"He was stabilised here and then transferred to a private hospital last night. He was suuffering from smoke inhalation."

At least 25 vehicles have been stoned and torched in the Western Cape since the strike started.

Earlier this week a courier company employee was declared brain dead after being hit in the head by a rock when striking workers targeted the truck he was in last week.
