JOHANNESBURG - Bafana Bafana coach Gordon Igesund on Monday said his players will not let the extreme weather conditions in Poland prevent them from fighting for an away win.

Bafana are expected to arrive in Warsaw on Tuesday ahead of their friendly with Poland on Friday.

South Africa has a poor away record but Igesund is confident.

"We know we're going to play in a decent pitch. The conditions will be obviously cold but that's good. It's always nice to play under those conditions so it's going to be a great test for us."

Igesund said the match will be a test for character for his players.

Poland is 54 in the world, 22 places above Bafana on the FIFA rankings.

Igesund said Poland is a strong team which can provide a stiff test to Bafana ahead of the African Cup Of nations.

He feels that his players need to have the mental strength and the drive to win games even against much tougher opponents.

"I want to see a passionate team. I want to see commitment from the players. They need to fight and win games."
