CAPE TOWN - A number of organisations are on Friday marching through the streets of Cape Town to the provincial legislature against the closure of 27 schools in the province.

The African National Congress, ANC Youth League, Congress of South African Trade Unions, Congress of South African Students and South African Democratic Teachers Union main focus of the march will be education and the possible closure of 27 schools in the province.

The ANCYL's Khaya Yozi said on Friday that they want to hand over a memorandum to Western Cape Premier Helen Zille.

"We decided to prioritise the issue of education; it is one of the first things that will be there in the memorandum. We hope that the premier is around, we know she just came back from overseas."
