Ajax approach De Haan
Foppe de Haan has been asked to return to the CT team after Maarten Stekelenburg was fired.
CAPE TOWN - Foppe de Haan said on Thursday Ajax Cape Town have approached him about making a return to the club.
The Dutchman is currently in Holland at Heerenven as a consultant.
Ajax fired coach Maarten Stekelenburg on Tuesday after poor results this year.
Stekelenburg won just three of his last 19 matches at the club.
De Haan said he spoke with the club's CEO George Comitis on Wednesday.
"I told George I cannot come now because I have all kind of things to do until January and after January I don't have a plan. If it's possible I can go there for half a year. "
De Haan famously took Ajax to their second place finish in the 2009/2010 season.
The 69-year-old does however admit he misses life in Cape Town, and is considering a second stint at the Urban Warriors, albeit only on a caretaker basis.
"My wife and I miss Cape Town. I miss people. We had very good contact with a lot of people and it's a pity it's going with Ajax like its going, I don't like that at all, but I don't know what the reason is. If I can help then I will do it."
