CAPE TOWN - Western Province coach Allister Coetzee said he was concerned by the poor decisions made by his players in the loss to the Lions on Saturday.

Province suffered their fourth loss of the Currie Cup campaign, going down 22-9 at Newlands Stadium in Cape Town.

Coetzee said the team had many opportunities to score points, but never took the right option.

Coetzee said "silly" decisions cost them the match.

"Our decision making was poor."

The coach said it was not the Lions that forced them into a corner, but rather the team that failed themselves.

The Lions are now back on top of the Currie Cup log.
