CAPE TOWN - Two people have been arrested for allegedly running a brothel in the central business district.

A Nigerian woman, who was apparently forced into prostitution, was also rescued during a raid on the brothel in Bree Street, which was carried out by the Hawks on Thursday night.

Two women were arrested during the sting operation; one of them had been running the brothel.

Police say the pair will appear in the Cape Town Magistrates Court on Monday.

In a separate incident in Milnerton, police arrested a 45-year-old man on charges of abduction and rape.

It is alleged he kidnapped a 16-year-old girl from a village in the Eastern Cape and forced her into marriage.
