CAPE TOWN - Western Province captain Deon Fourie says their accuracy in the rucks will be critical against the Lions on Saturday.

Fourie has highlighted the Lions pack as possibly the best in the competition and crucial to the team's success.

He says disrupting the Lions forwards will make it difficult for their backs to have a free-flowing game.

"I think it's going to be a big battle upfront. I think that's how they build their campaign at the moment. They've got exciting and quick backs who just finish it off."

He says consistency in the Lions team has made them a dangerous team worthy of the top spot.

"They gel as a team and I think that's why they won the Currie Cup in 2011."

Meanwhile, the Lions will be without Elton Jantjies and Jaco Taute following their call up to the Springbok squad for the Rugby Championship clash against Australia.

The Johannesburg side is currently on top of the Currie Cup log while Province is third.

Kickoff is at 2pm at Newlands.
