Seven other entities in the Western Cape also received clean audits.

CAPE TOWN - Four Western Cape government departments have received clean audits for the 2011/12 financial year.

They are the Departments of Community Safety, Treasury, Environmental Affairs and Provincial Parliament.

But most notably, the Education Department has received a qualified audit.

The auditor-general has found fault with the registrar of mobile classrooms in the Western Cape.

It has been noted a proper register needs to be kept, but provincial authorities say the mobile units are not their sole responsibility.

In the past three years, more than 2,000 units have been set up in partnerships with various non-governmental organisations.

Overall, Western Cape Finance MEC Allan Winde said he is pleased with the 2011/12 audit outcomes.

Seven provincial entities, among them, Cape Town Routes Unlimited also received clean audits.

The Western Cape is the only province that is not governed by the ANC.

The province is under the Democratic Alliance (DA).
