Trains back 'on track' after bomb scare
CT trains were delayed on Monday morning after a bomb scare at Maitland station.
CAPE TOWN - Train schedules in Cape Town have normalised after police evacuated and searched the Maitland train station following a bomb scare.
Metrorail said there has been a worrying rise in the number of bomb threats over the past four months.
Metrorail Regional Manager Mthuthuzeli Swartz said they have an idea of who the culprits may be, but cannot make allegations at this stage.
"It is a highly irresponsible thing for people to do. We are investigating this with the cops to make sure that we get to the bottom of this. We don't want to start making allegations, but there is only one group of people who will benefit from train delays."
The operation delayed all train lines which left thousands of commuters late for work.
