MEC Robin Carlisle believe the killing of a taxi operator is linked to tensions between rival taxi groups.
CAPE TOWN - Western Cape Transport MEC Robin Carlisle believed the killing of a Bellville taxi operator on Thursday was linked to tensions between rival taxi groups.
A 59-year-old man was shot dead apparently by another taxi operator at Bellville Taxi Rank.
The 60-year-old suspect was arrested shortly after the incident.
The deceased is a member of the Bellville Taxi Association.
It is understood an argument sparked the killing which left commuters stunned.
Carlisle said he was informed about the incident.
"There have been other deaths involving taxi operators. We are looking into the matter."
