SABC mute on why CFO was suspended
The public broadcaster says it still has to investigate the allegations.
JOHANNESBURG - The South African Broadcasting Corporation on Thursday said it could not disclose the exact reasons as to why its chief financial executive Gugu Duda was suspended with immediate effect.
The suspension came into effect yesterday afternoon.
The public broadcaster said it still had to investigate the allegations against the CFO.
Its spokesperson, Kaizer Kganyago, said Duda would still receive her full salary during the period of her suspension, as it was only a precautionary decision.
On Wednesday, Duda confirmed she had received a letter asking for reasons why she should keep her job.
It is understood the SABC board is worried about problems that cropped up in the company's procurement department, which falls under the CFO.
