SABC CFO gets suspension letter
SABC CFO Gugu Duda received a letter asking her to explain why she should not be suspended.
JOHANNESBURG - South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Gugu Duda on Wednesday confirmed to Eyewitness News that she received a letter asking her to explain why she should not be suspended.
On Tuesday, the SABC board told Parliament it wanted to suspend her for alleged financial irregularities.
The CFO said she cannot do interviews on this issue, but confirmed she was represented by former SABC boss advocate Dali Mpofu.
It was understood the broadcaster planned to suspend Duda after problems in the corporation's procurement section.
Last week, procurement head Nompilo Dlamini was suspended.
Duda now has to explain to the board why she believes she should stay on in her job.
