JOHANNESBURG - Former Crime Intelligence boss Richard Mdluli's defence team on Friday punched more holes in the testimony of a witness.

An inquiry into Vosloorus man Oupa Ramogibe's death is currently underway in the Boksburg Magistrate's Court.

Mdluli and three subordinates were charged with murder, but charges were subsequently withdrawn pending the outcome of the hearing.

Ramogibe's girlfriend of the time, Lerato Sebalo, contradicted herself several times during testimony.

When she was questioned about the glaring contradictions, she said she was confused or she could not remember the details.

Sebalo testified that she had a perfect relationship with Ramogibe, until Mdluli pointed out the fact that he married another woman behind her back.

Defence lawyer Ike Motloung's cross-examination showed Sebalo as a betrayed lover and a person who had motive to kill Ramogibe.

He also showed the great lengths Sebalo went to in order to implicate Mdluli in the crime.
