Gauteng Metrorail experiencing delays

Heavy rain and flooding continues to affect train services

Train delays in Gauteng, after heavy rain.

JOHANNESBURG - Metrorail on Friday said it was still experiencing delays because of the rain.

Thousands of commuters were left stranded on Thursday after trains failed to arrive in Pretoria, while massive delays were experienced on the East Rand.

Metrorail's Lillian Mofokeng said, "Our trains between Pretoria and Johannesburg have been heavily affected."

There has been heavy rain over the past 24 hours causing flooding and mayhem on the roads around the country.

Meanwhile, the Weather Service said it was forecasting a warmer weekend.
