Don't take no for an answer
A CPT business owner believes never accepting the word 'no' is the key to her success.
CAPE TOWN - A Cape Town business owner believes the key to her success is never taking 'no' for an answer.
Delia Cupido owns three pre-schools and an estate agency.
She is among an increasing number of women who are applying for financial assistance for their businesses.
Risk financiers Business Partners Limited say an increasing number of women, including Cupido, are applying for loans for small and medium-sized enterprises in particular.
Cupido says it is important to know your target market as an entrepreneur.
"I believe it's about how I sell myself and my business. Also, it is my track record and my reputation that allows for me to be where I need to be."
The Cape Chamber of Commerce's Michael Bagraim believes women are better at detail when it comes to business.
"We've noticed that female business entrepreneurs, especially in small businesses, watch the small things. They watch their pennies as opposed to the men who look at the bigger picture and don't watch the pennies."
