Police probed for killing Angolan robber

CAPE TOWN - The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) is probing the killing of a suspected robber by police.

A 23-year-old Angolan man was apparently shot and killed shortly after exiting a house he had robbed.

The man, along with two other suspects exited the Melkbosstrand home after tying up the occupants.

Police who were on patrols pulled the men over in the vehicle they were driving.

The IPID's Moses Dlamini said, "The robbers ransacked the house, they tied up the home owners and stole their vehicle and a firearm."

The suspect was while trying to flee the officers.
