Wreath laying ceremony for Rheenendal victims
Community members held a wreath laying ceremony to mark the one year anniversary of the Rheenendal crash.
CAPE TOWN - Exactly one year after the Rheenendal school bus crash which resulted in the deaths of 14 pupils and their driver, parents and community members on Friday gathered at the place where the incident occurred.
A wreath laying ceremony was held honour of the victims and the scene where the bus crash took place was packed with family and friends of the victims.
Dozens gathered at the tiny bridge that leads into the small rural community.
The victim's family members placed fresh flowers beside their crosses at sunset, while brass band played church hymns in the background.
After the ceremony everyone made their way to the local community hall for a special memorial service.
