Family shocked by teen's murder
A Cape Town woman is in shock following the murder of her 17-year-old son.
CAPE TOWN - Relatives of one of the four men killed in Uitsig near Ravensmead on Monday expressed their shock at the crime.
Earlier in the day, three bodies were found in a wendy house and a fourth victim died en route to hospital.
Eyewitness News understands the deceased, aged between 17 and 21, may have been gang members.
Police investigators are still on the scene.
While the wendy house remains closed, its walls are dotted with bullet holes.
Seventeen-year-old Marcelino van Rooyen and three of his friends were asleep at the time of the shooting.
His mother Noeleen Ludick said she heard several gunshots, but she was too scared to go outside.
She then called the police.
Ludick told Eyewitness News she wants to know who is responsible for taking the life of her only child.
Community Safety MEC Dan Plato has called on police to do more to fight gang violence and warned community members are losing faith.
Several people have been killed in gang related violence throughout the province in recent months.
