CAPE TOWN - Rescue operations for a missing Thornton boy are expected to resume on Friday.

Dale Eastland (7) fell into the Elsieskraal River on Wednesday while playing with a friend.

On Thursday, around eight divers spent hours searching for him but without any success

Emergency services spokesperson Keri Davids said they had no choice but to temporarily call off the search.

"The search operation was postponed due to weather conditions and the rising water levels."
