CAPE TOWN - Western Province coach Allister Coetzee on Wednesday said they were hoping to get at least 30 minutes of game time out of Duane Vermeulen on Saturday.

The eighthman makes his long awaited return against Griquas since injuring his knee in April.

The Griquas lost to the Blue Bulls in the Currie Cup opener last Friday.

Coetzee said Vermeulen cannot be rushed.

"I think he can manage to play for 30 to 40 minutes."

Captain Deon Fourie said Vermuelen brings a lot of experience to the team.

"He brings a lot of experience to the team. I think everyone including the medical team is happy he is back."

The final will take place on 27 October.
