Mokonyane visits JHB hospital
Premier Nomvula Mokonyane expects feedback from officials at the Charlotte Maxeke Hospital.
JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng Premier Nomvula Mokonyane on Wednesday said she expects feedback from health officials on the state of Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital.
This follows reports of staff shortages at the facility.
Mokonyane launched her own review after it emerged that the hospital did not have the resources to treat patients.
On Tuesday, she visited the facility to see the problems first hand.
The premier's spokesperson Thebe Mohatle said she is ready to address issues.
The embattled Gauteng Health Department also faces problems of non-payment to suppliers and broken equipment.
