Zondo appointed ConCourt judge
Judge Raymond Zondo has officially been named as a Constitutional Court judge by President Jacob Zuma.
JOHANNESBURG - President Jacob Zuma on Tuesday formally appointed Judge Raymond Zondo to the Constitutional Court.
He was one of four names sent to the president by the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).
Zuma also received submissions from the Democratic Alliance and other political parties, before making his decision.
Presidency spokesperson Mac Maharaj said Zondo brings more than two decades of experience to the country's top court.
Zondo will assume his new position on September 1.
He has served as a judge in both the Labour and North Gauteng High Court.
