Somali shop ransacked in Khayelitsha
Municipal staff members have removed debris from on the usually busy Lansdowne Road.
CAPE TOWN - A Somali-owned shop was ransacked during a protest in Khayelitsha on Monday evening.
According to locals, the foreign-owned shop was looted and community leaders were now trying to recover stolen goods.
Although there was no sign of violence on Tuesday, police were maintaining a visible presence in the area.
Armoured vehicles and vans are stationed along several major roads.

Residents have gathered outside their homes to discuss developments with neighbours.
Seemingly unconcerned by the chilly weather, they debated the recent violence seen in the township.
