JOHANNESBURG - North West police have arrested a suspect in connection with the murder of a Muslim man.

On Sunday, 27-year-old Mohammed Fayaaz Kazi and a friend were allegedly attacked by two men following an altercation in a fast food outlet in Magaliesburg.

Kazi passed away from his injuries on Monday.

The fight apparently started when two men insulted Kazi about his beard.

The police's Neville Malila said, "Detectives worked around the clock and late last night [Saturday evening], they managed to arrest a 27-year-old Rustenburg man. He is currently in custody and will appear in court soon."

According to officials, the suspect was arrested in Hartbeespoort in the North West Province.

Police are still looking for another man.
