CAPE TOWN - Chapman's Peak Drive has been closed to traffic as extreme weather batters parts of the Western Cape.
Heavy rainfall and winds of up to 60 kilometres per hour hit the region overnight, as a cold front passes through the province.
No incidents of flooding have been recorded as yet, but the city's disaster management team is on high alert.
Disaster Management's Wilfred Solomons-Johannes said officials are monitoring conditions, particularly in informal settlements.
