JOHANNESBURG - The Ventersdorp community was left reeling on Wednesday following the murder of a Muslim man in an alleged religious attack.

On Monday, the man got into a fight at a fast food restaurant in Magaliesburg and was badly beaten.

He died on Tuesday after suffering trauma to the brain.

The trouble started when Anser Mahmood and his friend Mohammed Fayaz Kazi went to a fast food outlet.

They allegedly overheard two men mocking them about Kazi's beard.

Both men were beaten up in the incident.

Shortly after the assault, Kazi showed signs of internal injuries and was rushed to hospital.

Mahmood said he wants justice.

"I won't stop until I find the people who killed my brother and see them go behind bars."
