PRETORIA - Boeremag accused Tom Vorster was found guilty of high treason in the North Gauteng High Court on Monday.

Judge Eben Jordaan handed down his ruling in his third week of judgment.

At least 22 men are charged with a range of crimes, including murder and terrorism.

It was Voster who led a convoy of Boeremag members, armed with bombs and ammunition, to blow up targets at various location in Alexandra, north of Johannesburg.

Jordaan read evidence of how Vorster called off the operation after he found out he had been betrayed and police knew of the plan.

The judge found that if the attack had gone ahead, the damage and loss of life would have taken on chaotic proportions.

Vorster took over as leader after police arrested Boeremag mastermind Mike du Toit.
