JOHANNESBURG - African National Congress (ANC) Secretary General Gwede Mantashe has denied that he held a secret meeting with Independent Electoral Committee (IEC) chairperson Pansy Tlakula.

United Democratic Movement (UDM) leader Bantu Holomisa wrote an open letter this week in which he alleged that Tlakula, Manatashe and IEC Commissioner Norman du Plessis met at Luthuli House last week.

Holomisa is worried that the alleged meeting goes against the Electoral Commission Act which says that all political parties should be privy to what the meeting was about.

"If they met outside the required stated regulation, it would be inappropriate for them to do so.

Mantashe said Holomisa has been misinformed.

"There was no such meeting. If there was anything to take the IEC, we go there openly."
