CAPE TOWN - Relatives of gold medallist Chad le Clos on Wednesday said they were overwhelmed by the support they have received.

The South African swimmer on Tuesday won the 200 metres men's butterfly final to claim the country's second gold medal in the London 2012 Olympics.

Le Clos' father Bert told the Johan Maytham Show he has been crying quite a bit.

"I get stopped everywhere by people who want to congratulate me. It's an amazing feeling."

Chad's sister Bianca said she was glued to her brother's Facebook account on Tuesday evening.

"Chad's Facebook page was insane with people writing on his wall."

Meanwhile, le Clos will also be competing in the 200 metre individual medley on Wednesday evening.
