CSA committed to transformation
Cricket South Africa says transformation in the sport remains a top priority.
CAPE TOWN - Cricket South Africa (CSA) on Wednesday said transformation in the sport remains a top priority.
Speaking before Parliament's Portfolio Committee on Sport in Cape Town, CSA acting CEO Jacque Faul discussed the growth of the game.
He said they are on track with plans to ensure the sport is representative of all races.
Around 45 percent of the contracted players are of colour, with many more sportsmen in the development phase.
According to Faul, 53 percent of South African players currently touring England are of colour.
The Proteas take on England in their second Test on Thursday.
The CEO said interaction at club level is key to developing black players.
He added that the sport has made massive strides since the country's readmission into international cricket back in 1992.
