CAPE TOWN - Proteas batsman JP Duminy on Monday said the team is in a very good space after winning the first Test against England.

Batsman Hashim Alma scored a 311 not out, while Dale Steyn took five wickets in the second innings to help his side win at Oval.

Currently, the Proteas are preparing for their second Test at Headingley this week.

Duminy said the team is focusing on its own game.

"We want to be prepared going into the next game. Personally, I'm not putting any pressure on myself. I'll just go in there and play freely."

Duminy said he has prepared well for the game.

"The preparation has been good so I'm definitely ready for the challenge."

The second Test of the series starts on Thursday.
