JOHANNESBURG - United Sates (US) Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is due in South Africa on a State visit next week.

Analysts say a discussion on the African Growth and Opportunity Act, which makes it easier for African countries to export goods to America, is expected to top her agenda.

She is expected to visit several African countries, in what will be her last tour of the continent before the US election in November.

Clinton is expected to spend four days in South Africa as part of her whirl-wind Africa visit.

She will be in Gauteng for talks with International Relations and Coorporation Minister Maite Nkoana-Mashabane, before going to Cape Town.

South African Institute of International Affairs Research associate Tom Wheeler said, "We've got to try get trading going again if we want the world economy going".

The US government has significantly improved relations with South Africa since President Jacob Zuma took over in 2009.

Full details of Clinton's visit will be announced on Wednesday.
