SA cricket is stable - Faul
Jacques Faul says the interest shown by new sponsors is proof the sport is doing well.
JOHANNESBURG - Cricket South Africa (CSA) acting CEO Jacques Faul on Monday said interest shown by new sponsors is proof that the sport is in a healthy state.
Earlier, the cricket body announced that Sunfoil has extended its sponsorship of the Proteas' home tests for an additional four years.
The new deal will also cover sponsorship of the four-day domestic competition.
Foul said this shows that cricket in South Africa is stable, both on and off the pitch.
"It's a good time to get on board. Hashim Alma's 311 in the first test was amazing. As a product, we feel confident that cricket is heading in the right direction and reaching new heights."
The Proteas are currently touring England.
